At first glance, an IRND filter performs the same job as a standard Neutral Density filter by reducing the amount of visible light entering the lens. However, when using stronger ND values, many digital cinema cameras become increasingly sensitive to infrared light. This can lead to unwanted colour shifts, particularly in black fabrics and dark materials, which may take on a brown or magenta appearance. An IRND filter prevents this by reducing both visible light and infrared light together, helping maintain accurate colours throughout the image.

This comprehensive set includes 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.1 filters, covering 1 to 7 stops of light reduction.
